Statement
Painting continues to be my joy and my challenge. My Interior and Still Life paintings are inspired by observations, objects, and ideas. Inspiration is everywhere, from the mundane to the magnificent, from the familiar local to the exotic foreign. Although considered a realist, I paint from life and imagination rather than from photographs, which allows me to create my own reality, sometimes bordering on surrealism.

Mimi Jensen is a painter inspired by her ideas and observations. While still a graduate student in drawing and painting she was selected for her first commercial gallery show, which led to subsequent exhibitions and launched her professional career as a painter. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and has been featured in numerous art publications. For the past 30+ years she has been represented by galleries in San Francisco and the Bay Area, Boston, Santa Monica, and Santa Fe. Mimi is a California native who has traveled widely, prompted by her wanderlust and curiosity about other lands and cultures. The objects and ideas collected in these travels often appear in her work. Despite her love of travel she always welcomes returning to her home in San Francisco with her husband, where she continues to revel in the beauty, art, cuisine, and bustle of her adopted city.
